GORE BAY – The Town of Gore Bay has received funding from the province that it will use pave one of its roads.

Gore Bay Clerk Stasia Carr told council at a meeting held earlier this month that the town has received funding through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund 2020 of over $88,000.

Deputy Mayor Kevin Woestenenk who chaired the April 9 council meeting asked council, “does anyone have any ideas on what projects we want to put this funding towards.”

Councillor Paulie Nodecker pointed out there is a lot of roadwork that needs to take place in the town, including needed work on Water Street, which is well used.

After further brief discussion, council passed a motion to use the OCIF funding to pave a portion of Water Street.
