Spring Bay Rural Route

May 19—A beautiful sunny weekend for the holiday. Many people are home opening up their cottages for the summer.

A graveside service was held for Doug McDermid on Friday evening at the Providence Bay Cemetery.

Our prayers go out to Hazen White who was in the Mindemoya Hospital.

A funeral for Harold Arnold will be held on Wednesday morning at the Providence Bay Hall.

Shaun Lewis and children visited his parents Doug and Mary Alice Lewis last weekend.

There were lots of yard sales on the weekend.

Stanley Park opened this weekend and many were there opening up, but it’s still not very warm.

On the Victoria holiday weekend Emily Noble from Sault Ste. Marie opened her cottage for the summer months. Emily was glad for the help from her niece Courtney Gray and James Hood of Fort McMurray and their three-month-old son Grayson Charles Hood. The St. Francis Anglican Church family welcomed them back to church. They visited me on Sunday evening and took a picture of me and their baby. I enjoyed their visit very much and I’m looking forward to them coming back later.

Charlotte Leonard and Charlene Biggs from Sudbury spent the holiday weekend at the Leonard cottage across from me. We had a nice time together.

Sympathy to the Mandigo family in the passing their father Roy in Spring Bay.

Ken and Sheila Maeck went to Sudbury for a couple of days. Ken had a doctor’s appointment. We wish him well.

George and Gayle Popowich had some of their family home for the weekend.

Get well to all who are sick and enjoy the sunshine.
