January 12—January has been a cold snowy month so far. It will soon be half over. With such changeable weather, the cold and flu have sure made their rounds this year.

New Year guests at David and Connie’s were Royce, Tracey and Lexis, Brent, Tammey and family and myself. Allen and Rosemarie were unable to attend due to the weather.

Belated birthday wishes to Irene Montgomery who celebrated on January 13.

Sympathy to the family of Gwen (Middaugh) Young in her passing at such a young age. Her funeral was on Saturday at the Island Funeral Home in Little Current. She will be sadly missed.

Sympathy to the Umpherson family in the passing of Verlie. The Umphersons lived a number of years in Mindemoya and belonged to the Twilight Club in Providence Bay.

Marie Sloss in Spring Bay had several of her relatives for Christmas dinner.

The Spring Bay Pentecostal Church ladies are having a potluck luncheon and fun time together at noon on Thursday, January 15. They supply the soup and those who attend bring the sandwiches or dessert. It is always much enjoyed. Thanks ladies!

Sympathy to Freda Allan’s family on her passing. She was one of our “over 90” birthday girls.

Sympathy to the Glasby family in the passing of Harold in Sudbury.

Mindemoya hosted a men’s curling bonspiel on the weekend. They had a nice weekend together.

There is sure lots of curling on the weekend. Canada did well!
