Spring Bay Rural Route

December 5—Twenty days until Christmas, so it’s getting close.

We extend sympathy to the Lewis and Rayner families in the passing of Jim. And sympathy to Georgina and Buck Lovelace in the passing of their brother Carl Bond.

The Spring Bay euchre group’s turkey supper will be held on Friday, December 13 at 6 pm. Turkey will be served. The rest is potluck. Euchre will follow after supper. If you are, bring vegetables and let Dorothy know. Euchre will begin on March 7 at 8 pm. Come and enjoy the evening at Spring Bay community centre.

Belated birthday to Betty Greenman who celebrated on December 2 and Laura W. Scott on December 9. I hope they enjoyed their day.

Curling is on this week again. Jacob’s rink from Sault Ste. Marie is doing well, still on top. And some others are doing well too. The ladies are doing well also. Homan is still on top. Some very tight games, and it’s good curling. I’m enjoying it.

Carol Gilmore had a birthday dinner with her son Jeff on Tuesday. So we wish him a happy birthday.

Get well wishes to Marilyn Haner who had surgery in Sudbury on Tuesday.

A Christmas potluck dinner and a lot of curling games were held last Sunday at the Providence Bay curling club. A fun day.

It’s talking rain, but I hope we don’t get it. Have a good week!
