A fundraiser for Ruta Tribinevicius will be held this Saturday, August 11 at the Kagawong park Centre where one can pick up a bottle of her famed maple syrup (seen above).

KAGAWONG—The fundraiser for Ruta Tribinevicius, who was left seriously injured in a July 20 hit and run in Sheguiandah, will take place this Saturday, August 11 at the Kagawong Park Centre.

Ms. Tribinevicius is currently recovering from serious injuries at Health Sciences North in Sudbury where she was transferred from St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto.

“We look forward to having you come out to show your support for Ruta!” a Facebook page encourages. “Join us for an evening of music, entertainment and food to support this amazing person on her road to recovery.”

The cost of admission to the musical evening is $10 per person. There will also be a silent auction of local art, items and services. Cash, credit and Apple Pay for admission and sales are all welcome.

“We are encouraging everyone to wear your best combination of leopard print, camo, leather and sequins—we plan to make Ruta smile with pictures of people trying to imitate her amazing fashion sense (as if we could)!” the Facebook page states.

For those who can’t come, Ruta’s family has set up a direct-to-Ruta transfer so all the money can go directly to her. Email a money transfer to rootsbootstoots@gmail.com. You can also directly deposit money to the BMO savings account: the number is 2373 8103-091.

Organizers are still looking for donations for the silent auction, as well as donations of food for the evening. Email thisismegmiddleton@gmail.com or call Meg at 705-348-1461 if you want to contribute.
