MHC Auxiliary News

The MHC Auxiliary continues to fundraise and provide services to enhance patient care. Due to the pandemic, events have been cancelled or postponed. Among them are the regular auxiliary meetings, celebration of our 75th anniversary, the casserole dinner, the tuck cart\lottery ticket sales, the tuck cart service to patients, participation in Haweater Weekend activities and any planning for future events.

According to statistics, volunteer groups are facing a 50 percent decline in contributions.

So what is the MHC Auxiliary doing and how are we coping with the drastic decline in revenue? Donations to the In Memoriam Fund and the sale of some tuck cart items from the Showcase are ongoing. Book sales continue at the Farmers’ Market on Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm. Also, some have made donations because they realize the importance of the auxiliary in enhancing patient care. Thank you for your generosity. Donations can be sent to Marilee Hore, RR1 Little Current or dropped off at admitting. Cheques should be made out to the MHC Auxiliary.

Care bags and dental bags continue to be made and distributed. Headsets are also provided. Thank you to staff at MHC for helping out while areas are closed to members. Providing masks became a necessary service, so members, friends, Mennonite ladies and the Quilters Guild met the challenge. Thanks to all!

Our sympathy to the Sellen family on the passing of Yvonne, a dedicated auxiliary member.

Thank you to our president, Dawn Orr, for her diligence in keeping members informed, keeping in touch with administration and for her support wherever help is needed.

The MHC Auxiliary appreciates your support. Working together, we can overcome the challenges COVID-19 has presented. Stay safe! Wash hands, stay two metres apart and wear a mask.
