LITTLE CURRENT—Trailers had already begun arriving at the Manitoulin Country Fest grounds on Monday as of press time—festival goers excited for the week ahead.
“Ticket sales are up 30 percent already,” said Kelly Timmermans, who organizes the annual festival with her husband Craig Timmermans. “We are thrilled with everyone’s enthusiasm and support. This year is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.”
Thursday’s line up includes The Abrams at 7 pm, Washboard Union at 8:30 pm and Corb Lund at 10:15 pm.
On Friday night, Jessica Pearson takes the stage at 4:30 pm, followed by Western Swing Authority at 5:45 pm, Meghan Patrick at 7 pm, Michelle Wright at 8:30 pm and Dwight Yoakam at 10 pm.
Saturday’s line up includes Mikaila Cooper at 2 pm, Nicole Rayy at 2:55 pm, The Lovelocks at 4 pm, David James at 5:30 pm, Chris Buck Band at 7 pm, Crystal Shawanda at 8:30 pm and Joe Nichols at 10 pm.
“We have changed up the venue and have more camping this year,” said Ms. Timmermans. “We have a ton of vendors this year, offering lots of food and merchandise. We also have Science North coming on Saturday and will be set up in the Family Fun Zone along with inflatables and face painting—which is all free (for ticket holders).”
Also new this year, CHAW Country 103 will be on site broadcasting Manitoulin Country Fest live. They will also be doing interviews from the VIP section throughout the weekend.
