Jay Favot ‘A Celebration of Place’ exhibit opens at Perivale Saturday

‘Killarney Generations by Jay Favot can be seen at Perivale Gallery, along with many other of his works.

PERIVALE – This Saturday, July 13 marks the opening of Perivale Gallery’s exhibition and sale titled ‘A Celebration of Place: The Art of Jay Favot.’

“Jay is a Sudbury-based artist whose star has been rapidly rising,” says Perivale Gallery curator Shannon McMullan. “Featured in a 16-page spread in the 2017 Spring/Summer edition of ARABELLA, Canada’s foremost art, design and architecture publication as an “Artist to Collect,” Jay has recently figured prominently in awards at well-known and respected art venues.” 

Mr. Favot was the recipient of the Peg Forbes Award, his overall outstanding artistic work at the 2016 La Cloche Art Show, as well as being the 2016 winner of the People’s Choice Award at Perivale Gallery’s annual ‘In the Spirit of Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven Show.’ In 2017, Mr. Favot was presented with the Committee’s Choice Award at the La Cloche Art Show. 

‘A Celebration of Place’ will feature the artist’s newest and, as yet unseen works, and will continue to July 19. 

Come and meet the artist and enjoy refreshments and live music on July 13 from 1 to 5 pm, or visit the show anytime between 10 am and 5 pm during the following week. Mr. Favot’s available works can be viewed at Perivale Gallery until September 15.
