March 17 – The Wiikwemkoong Board of Education has announced all its schools and the hub centre will be closed for students until April 5. This includes the cancellation of child care programs at the hub centre, community use of school facilities, all WBE meetings, travel and evening events and field trips.
March 17 – Midewiwi Biboon Ceremonies slated for March 20-22 at Pontiac School is cancelled
March 17 – Anishinabek Family Teachings Conference slated for March 30-31 at the Manitoulin Hotel and Conference Centre is cancelled
March 17 – Noojmowin Teg Health Centre makes changes to service delivery. Link to full list of changes.
March 17 – Rainbow Ridge Golf Course and Indoor Golf Academy limits food and beverage services to takeout only. It will continue to allow for indoor bookings of no more than four people to its Indoor Golf Academy
March 17 – North Channel Marine Tourism postpones Annual Conference and AGM scheduled for April 23 & 24, 2020 in Little Current. The Annual Conference is being tentatively rescheduled for October 22 & 23, 2020 in Little Current.
March 17 – All Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board (DSB) offices will be open by appointment only and: All Social Assistance payments will continue; clients will not be required to submit monthly income statements; all resource centres are closed; all new applications or request for any type of DSB assistance will be handled over the phone only; where DSB staff deem necessary arrangements will be made to have an office visit. No client will be denied benefits simply because they could not sign documents
March 17 – Little Current Lions suspend ‘Catch the Ace’. Thursday’s scheduled draw will proceed as planned with future draws suspended and reassessed after two weeks
March 17 – Ontario declares a state of Emergency. The province will mandate the closure of restaurants and bars, though those that can offer takeout and delivery can continue selling food items.

March 16 – The NEMI Rec Centre is closed to the public until further notice and all March Break activities are cancelled
March 16 – Tehkummah Township announces the closure of its hall, public library (including social club) and scheduled meetings until further notice. The municipal office remains open with controlled access
March 16 – All library programming at the NEMI Library cancelled until further notice. Library hours will remain unchanged
March 16 – Billings council and committee meetings cancelled and Park Centre and Kagawong Fitness Centre closed until at least April 6
March 16 – All Contact North offices on Manitoulin closed

March 15 – The Island Jar in Little Current announces its storefront closure but will continue to take phone orders and make home deliveries.

March 14 – Ministry of Health directs that all visits to Little Current nursing home be suspended until further notice
