M’Chigeeng First Nation is seeking a motivated individual who is results oriented with demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate, deliver and facilitate cultural and youth-based programming and activities focusing and promoting for healthier communities. If you can work independently, and in a team environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, then you may be a great fit for this position.
Position Summary, reports to the Health Services Department Manager. Using an Anishinabek approach, will deliver the Lil’ Sisters & Young Warriors programming for M’Chigeeng youth ages 10-14 years old; youth-led, based on the Medicine Wheel Core planning; focusing on culturally appropriate, positive and safe spaces for girls and boys and their peers; works with elders; including scheduling, recruitment, facilitation and scheduling of facilitators, curriculum development and budget monitoring and reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum, Diploma Child & Youth Care Worker/Social Service Worker sector or other related field; or combination of 4-years related work experience & training; Demonstrates kindness, Daa-nsastaan nishnaabemowin. Reliable & trustworthy with high standards of ethics and confidentiality; ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive. Confident in use of Anishinabemowin. Planning & organizational skills; ability to effectively coordinate and organize activities. Flexible to work evens & weekends. Valid Driver’s License & reliable vehicle, appropriate insurance coverage & willing to obtain Driver’s Abstract.
