EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYPERMANENT POSITION – DEADLINE EXTENSION

POSITION: RECE / ACC – Anishinaabemowin Curriculum Coordinator

LOCATION: Wikwemikong Hub Centre

SALARY: Based on Ministry of Education Funding

START DATE: July 2018

Under the direct supervision of the Hub Centre Program Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible in the delivery of Anishinaabemowin Culture, Language for the early learning programs and perform the following duties:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop curriculum and scope, sequence, activities and resources for students.

Provide physical, social, cognitive, emotional and skill development for students.

Work with other ECEs to integrate Anishinaabemowin in the program, instructions, projects, and activities in other subject areas.

Manage student behavior and support individual student goals.

Attend parent/teacher interviews, in-service training and workshops.

Support and engage the cultural activities revolving around the Hub Centre.

Program duties as a team player and support daily operations.

Initiate/Coordinate appropriate extra-curricular programming.

Develop long range plans for the Anishinaabemowin curriculum.

Network with other community agencies to ensure the Hub Centre is active in community language initiatives.

Evaluate, monitor, and deliver the Anishinaabemowin language

Schedule new student enrollment, conduct parent/student orientation, ensure student file contain entrance requirements.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

Registered member and good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.

Early Childhood Education diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.

Must possess Native Language Teacher’s diploma/certificate and/or specialized training.

Knowledge and appreciation of Anishinaabe culture, language, and heritage.

Standard First Aid and CPR.
