Term: One year CONTRACT (October 2019 to september 2020)

We are currently recruiting for two (2) individuals who are prepared to be consistent and have a genuine dedication to all students and community members and who have a goal to be a part of a team that utilizes innovative approaches to make things happen for our students, community and Nation. The individuals will join our team as energetic, committed, creative, and respectful employees from October 2019 to September 2020 for the following positions:
Program Assistant (2):
Salary: $20.00 per hour
Position Objective: The Program Assistant will work under the supervision of the Director of Operations and be primarily responsible to provide operational and administrative assistance to the Department Managers and Program Staff. The Program Assistant will perform a variety of administrative, coordination and logistical services in support of the organizational operations, assist with information management, as well as planning and coordination of team activities (meetings, workshops, training opportunities, etc) as assigned. The Program Assistant will work as a team player to liaise with the various Program teams by providing support to coordinate activities, meet deadlines to ensure program delivery, and will be required to perform clerical duties as needed. The Program Assistant will be flexible to work occasional evening or weekend shifts as needed.
- Applicants must be under the age of 30 to be eligible, out of school, or unemployed/underemployed
- Must be First Nation, Metis or Inuit
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment
- Good communication and customer service skills to effectively collaborate with co-workers and the general public
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge and familiarity of working in a Windows and Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Administrative experience is an asset to determine priorities and organize diverse activities
- Strong working knowledge of general office procedures, and records management practices
- Experience in planning events would be considered an asset
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset
