Full-Time Finance Clerk
Noojmowin Teg Health Centre is accepting applications for the position of a full-time Finance Clerk. The successful candidate assists with daily operations of the finance department, which may include responsibilities specific to the general ledger, cash flow, set up and managing vendor accounts and statements, streamlining vendor payment processes, full cycle of accounts payables, aging reports, receivables, bank reconciliation, audit preparation and general finance filing. The Finance Clerk will report directly to the Finance Manager.
The organization seeks a qualified candidate who is a self-starter, team player, and a well-organized professional who is able to meet multiple priorities and deadlines. The position is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in developing their accounting, budgeting and office skills.
Noojmowin Teg Health Centre is an Aboriginal Health Access Centre that provides traditional healing, primary health, mental health, and health promotion services to the seven First Nations and off-reserve community members living within the Manitoulin Island district. Given the traditional practices of the Anishinabek, from time to time, exposure to wood smoke and the burning of sacred medicines, including tobacco, sweet grass, sage and cedar, may occur within the work setting.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Certificate in accounting, finance or a related field, preferred
- Some previous work experience in finance
- Experience with accounting software, preferably Sage 50
- Proficiency with Excel, preferable
- Excellent written, verbal and technology communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and be detail oriented
- Work experience with Anishinabek organizations and/or communities an asset
