Community Health Program Worker

1 Year Contract – Maternity Leave

The NAANDWECHIGE-GAMIG Wikwemikong Health Centre is seeking applicants for the position of a Community Health Program worker.


The position is responsible for the involvement of the planning, organization, evaluation, development and design of programs and activities in the area of health education and health promotion programs.


  • Organize and lead community outreach activities;
  • Identify health focus areas based on community input;
  • Provide regular health education workshops to all age levels within the community;
  • Coordinate agency health promotion activities with other organizations’/groups’ activities (i.e. health fairs, health screening clinics);
  • Coordinate regular outreach activities that promote healthy lifestyles;
  • Documentation in the Electronic Medical records;
  • Conduct home visits and report to supervisor or Community Health Nurse.


  • High School diploma
  • Diploma and/or certificate in community health, health education, or related field;
  • Experience related to community/adult health education;
  • Knowledge of the priorities affecting aboriginal health;
  • Must be computer literate inclusive of Microsoft word and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to present information to groups;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skill.
