TOWNSHIP OF TEHKUMMAH
Tehkummah Township is located on the south shore of Manitoulin Island, home to the northern terminus of the Chi-Cheemaun Ferry which connects western Ontario to this idyllic vacation destination. Tehkummah, meaning “rays of light flashing in the sky”, was first surveyed in 1876 with the original settlement being at Michael’s Bay, now Manitoulin’s famed ghost town. Come work in the land of dark skies, big waves, fishing and hunting, boating, lovely pastoral views, farming and quiet.
The Township is recruiting a Clerk-Administrator to lead a small staff and assist Council to build a vision and a strategy forward. This position will appeal to those who are either in the early or latter stages of their career. Experience in, or exposure to municipal administration is preferred, along with strong leadership and the ability to achieve goals working with others.
Salary is commensurate with the demands of the job, and the Township offers both a benefit and pension allowance for the right candidate.
