ESPANOLA–The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have released the names of the two people who perished in a motor vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon.

Ricky Leduc, age 57, and Cecile Leduc, age 49, both of Hanmer, died after being involved in a collision with a dump truck on Highway 6, just south of Espanola.

Three more people were taken to hospital in Sudbury yesterday. Two have since been released, with the other person still in Sudbury at Health Sciences North with life threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Weather conditions are believed to have been a contributing factor. Highway 6 was re-opened at 9:30 pm.
