MINDEMOYA—If you have visited the Mindemoya main ballfield in the past few weeks, you would have no doubt seen the large new scoreboard just past the left field fence. The scoreboard stands courtesy of a collaboration between a local business and a local group who provided the funds to make it possible.

“The funds for the scoreboard were provided on a 50/50 basis from the Pearson Cup committee and Manitoulin Chrysler,” said Greg Lockeyer, a member of the Pearson Cup committee. He noted the local business “had approached us about providing a financial donation toward the new scoreboard.”

“Some of the funds raised by our committee from the Pearson Cup tournament went toward the scoreboard,” said Mr. Lockeyer.

When the scoreboard is not being used to keep spectators informed of the score of a game, the scoreboard reads “377” the first three numbers in the phoning code for Mindemoya and the municipality.
